What a Day!

I started and finished a new Sienna Dress for Lilith, and I completed the applique on a shirt that I made for her to match a skirt that I made for her a while ago.

I dressed Lilith up in several of the dresses that we made and took lots of pictures.

I was excited about the last Sienna dress that I made for Lilith because I added cuffs to the short sleeves.  I think it looks really cute to have them cuffed.  For those of you that have the Sienna pattern, I used the neck band piece to determine the width, and I used part of the sleeve piece that I had cut off for the length.  I worked really well.  I sewed them on exactly the same way that I sewed the neck band, and I finished both cuffs with a top stitch.   I am planning on adding an extra ruffle to the next dresses that I made.  I think it will be adorable.

Stephen made us fajitas for dinner.  Yummo!  His fajitas are my favorite, and he makes homemade tortillas!

A Trip to the Goodwill

Lilith and I went to Goodwill today to hunt for t-shirts for her recycled dresses.  We found a couple of cute shirts.  I found a "It's good to be a pepper" shirt, and Stephen promptly stole it from me.  He decided that he wanted it for his own.   We also found a couple of other shirts that will be good for the sleeves and trim on dresses.

Lilith also found this little dress.  She LOVES clothes.   She pranced around the house all day in it.   I thought it was really cute, and for $1.00 I had to indulge her and bring it home.

Recycled T-shirt Dresses #2

Tanner had an old Red Hot Chili Peppers T-shirt that I stole from him because it did not fit him anymore, and I made this new dress.  I have also decided that the pattern is great for just turning adult t-shirts into baby t-shirts.

Stephen has a BUNCH of concert shirts that are so cute, and I have been begging him to give them to me. He won't give them to me yet! :(  I have been asking everyone to hold onto their t-shirts for me--even the plain ones.  I can use the sleeves or the bottom of the shirts.  Also, if they have a little stain on them, I can usually cut around it.

I am going to be selling the dresses on etsy pretty soon, and please buy the pattern from Little Blue Boo.  I am a huge fan of her things!

Recycled T-shirt Dresses

I am love with the Sienna Dress Pattern from Little Blue Boo.  It is such a cool thing for me to be able to create my little one totally one of a kind dresses.   The latest dress that I made her was made out of an old Marilyn Monroe t-shirt of mine.   I love the way that it turned out.

It is a lot of fun making these dresses too.  I was incredibly nervous at first because I had never sewn with knit AND I had never sewn a neck band before.  Both ended up being pretty easy.

If you are interested in getting the pattern, you can go HERE.  I would highly, highly recommend the pattern.  It is very easy to follow.

Birthday Dress Complete!

I finished the birthday dress.   I think that it turned out very cute!  I am really pleased with the colors.  Stephen said that he didn't think that the blue matched very well.   I think it looks adorable.

Birthday Dress

One of my very best friend's grand-daughter is turning one.  I thought it would be fun to make her a sweet first birthday outfit.  I have gone back and forth on if I should make her a skirt with a matching shirt or a dress.  I really wanted to try my hand at the skirt and shirt because I just recently learned to appliqué, and I thought that I could make her an adorable matching shirt.   However, because first birthdays are so special, I finally decided to make her a fun dress.   It is going to be really adorable.   I am even thinking of adding a little tulle petticoat when I am done!   I will post pictures when I am finished with the dress.  Here are some pictures of the work in progress.  I just love the little blue ruffle peeking out the bottom!

A sweet little Valentine's Dress

I love to dress Lilith for every occasion, and for Valentine's Day I decided to try my hand at making her a dress. I think that it turned out pretty cute!

I used an e-pattern that I found on Etsy, and it was very easy to follow. You can get the pattern for yourself here. I plan on making this dress many, many more times in the future.
